Yummie Food – Simple Ideas for Athletes

This post is inspired by my athletes gearing up for the 24 Hours of Old Pueblo this February!

As I think ahead to the race and reflect on how much work it takes, I wanted to share some easy, delicious recipes to help us fuel our bodies before, during, and after the event.

Since race fuel is often packed with sugary carbs (great for energy but not always satisfying), I’ve included some savory options that might feel more appealing between laps. Plus, with all the hours spent training on the bike, these recipes double as make-ahead meals and post-ride snacks you can store in the fridge for quick recovery.

Many of these options are portable too, perfect for taking to the trailhead or enjoying in the woods after a ride—because, let’s be honest, I’m always hungry when I’m out there!

Feel free to mix and match ingredients, add your own creative twists, and make these recipes your own.

Enjoy! 🚴‍♀️✨
